Hey everyone. Its been a few days since I've been able to blog. If I had my way, I'd probably be on here all the time but life in general seems to get in the way! On Monday, in the pouring rain, Isaac and I threw on our rain gear and headed outside. We made our way down the road a ways to a running waterfall where we had to stop and play for a time. Once Isaac grew bored of that we headed to the beach. Even in the pouring rain the beach was just as spectacular as ever! Isaac grew bored of the beach alot sooner than usual since he wasn't allowed to play in the cold cold ocean water! I was happy to finally hear Isaac say that he was ready to go home - we were soaked!

A trip to the beach inspired this card. I don't have stamps depicting the ocean and rocky beach so instead I pulled out my Summer Sketches Simply Scrappin' Kit and made a very simple card. The card is made with Mellow moss card stock. I took a piece of whisper white card stock and attacked it with chalks. With the finger daubers I coloured the background with an assortment of blues to create a wintery looking sky. The picture, along with the diamond shaped pattern, are stickers from the kit. I used bordering blue card stock to frame the sticker. The word 'love' is from the Word Seach background stamp. Sorry about the date showing over the card. I just changed that setting on my camera.
On tuesday night I had a few fellow demonstrators

over for our monthly meeting. I use the term 'meeting' very loosley as its more just an excuse to get together to stamp and enjoy each others company! A few of us provided the group with card projects to do. My project was this Happy Birthday card. I saw a card sample on Splitcoast Stampers using Taken with Teal and Certainly celery cardstock and really fell in love with the colour combination! So this is what I came up with! The stamp sets used are Simpy Said, Happy Everything and the canvas background stamp from the 2006/07 Idea Book and Catalogue. I also made use of the Word Window Punch along with a brad in the center of the cutout flower. Colours of ink used: taken with teal, certainly celery and so saffron.
