Spring Fever Promotion

Good morning - can you believe it - another month has passed us by! Beginning tomorrow, March 1, our new Spring Mini springs into action! This mini catalogue will run from March 1 to May 31, 2007. This little mini is packed full of new and exciting stamp sets. There are a few Easter sets along with a cute baby stamp set and some new punches too! www.stampinup.com

The promotion - Spring Fever - runs from March 1 - March 31. If you purchase the Polka Dots & Paisley bundle for $48.90 you are then able to receive 50% off any one item in the Spring Mini! The bundle includes: Polka Dots & Paisley stamp set, Petals jumbo wheel and the Petals & Paisley designer paper. For those that are interested in hosting their own workshop - host a workshop totaling $600 (before tax and shipping) and you will receive 50% any one item from the Spring Mini.

Stampin' Up! demonstrators received the Polka Dots & Paisley stamp set as a gift from Stampin' Up! at Christmas time so we've had time to play and fall in love with this new stamp set. I can't wait to get my hands on the new designer paper mentioned above!

February swap cards

Check out these cards!! The following 4 cards are all created using the Polka Dots & Paisley stamp set featured in the upcoming Spring Mini catalogue. Isn't it interesting to see how different people interpret the same stamp set. The possibilities are endless really!! The card on the left was made by Bev. I love the colours and I always enjoy how Bev uses brads - something I never think to use. The card on the right was created by Stacey. Stacey didn't just see flowers with this stamp set - she saw a little girls face. The eyes are the flowers and the mouth is the stem of the flower. She has used the Daisy punch to make the hair and using a small buckle from the Hodgepodge Hardware she has made a little bow to finish her off. It really is a 'happy' card!! Stacey plans to send this to Stampin' Up! as an entry in a March contest for demonstrators. Good luck with that!!

These two cards were made by Sonia and Deb. Sonia used a technique called emboss resist. Its hard to see but it has a beautiful pastel look to it. Deb gave her card a softer look by rounding the corners on her center image.

A trip to the beach

Hey everyone. Its been a few days since I've been able to blog. If I had my way, I'd probably be on here all the time but life in general seems to get in the way! On Monday, in the pouring rain, Isaac and I threw on our rain gear and headed outside. We made our way down the road a ways to a running waterfall where we had to stop and play for a time. Once Isaac grew bored of that we headed to the beach. Even in the pouring rain the beach was just as spectacular as ever! Isaac grew bored of the beach alot sooner than usual since he wasn't allowed to play in the cold cold ocean water! I was happy to finally hear Isaac say that he was ready to go home - we were soaked!

A trip to the beach inspired this card. I don't have stamps depicting the ocean and rocky beach so instead I pulled out my Summer Sketches Simply Scrappin' Kit and made a very simple card. The card is made with Mellow moss card stock. I took a piece of whisper white card stock and attacked it with chalks. With the finger daubers I coloured the background with an assortment of blues to create a wintery looking sky. The picture, along with the diamond shaped pattern, are stickers from the kit. I used bordering blue card stock to frame the sticker. The word 'love' is from the Word Seach background stamp. Sorry about the date showing over the card. I just changed that setting on my camera.

On tuesday night I had a few fellow demonstrators
over for our monthly meeting. I use the term 'meeting' very loosley as its more just an excuse to get together to stamp and enjoy each others company! A few of us provided the group with card projects to do. My project was this Happy Birthday card. I saw a card sample on Splitcoast Stampers using Taken with Teal and Certainly celery cardstock and really fell in love with the colour combination! So this is what I came up with! The stamp sets used are Simpy Said, Happy Everything and the canvas background stamp from the 2006/07 Idea Book and Catalogue. I also made use of the Word Window Punch along with a brad in the center of the cutout flower. Colours of ink used: taken with teal, certainly celery and so saffron.

Host a workshop

Did you know that you can earn free Stampin' Up! products by hosting a workshop? Its that easy. All you need to do is invite your friends over to enjoy a fun and friendly demonstration provided by me and together we will create a selection of hand stamped projects. When you host a workshop, you'll see new project ideas, learn different stamping techniques, and have lots of fun with your friends!
Each of my hostesses will receive a complimentary 2006/2007 Idea Book and Catalogue (valued at $10). The hostess, based on the sales of the workshop, will also earn:
- free stamp sets available to hostesses only
and
-free Stampin' Up! products of her choice
The card to the left here is created using Springtime Stems. This is a level one hostess stamp set (exclusive to hostesses only). I used ruby red, pumpkin pie and very vanilla cardstock. I have stamped 'smile' on a piece of twill tape and looped it through a metal buckle from the Hodgepodge hardware collection.
This stamp set is also classified as a two-step stampin' set. Two-step stampin' allows us to create a single mutlicoloured image(flowers) - where we can layer one image over another making it an easy and fast way to create depth to a single stamped image.
If you would like contact me regarding an in-home workshop drop me a line at alipine@telus.net.

Here's another card using the Very Punny stamp set along with the Seeing Spots set. This card was created with gable green and green galore, both from the Bold Brights colour family. Are you wondering how I was able to keep the frog green and the words black? Well, its a very simple little trick - instead of using the stamp pad to ink your stamp I used our Marvelous Markers. I coloured the frog green and the words black. Its that easy. Knowing this, you can get pretty creative with your stamps.
One of my much younger workshop friends used this card as her birthday invitation for her friends! Its quite appropriate since she's having a bouncy castle for her and her friends to enjoy at the birthday party!! The girls will be bouncing and stamping! I will be there offering 2 small stamped projects for the girls to create. I will follow up later this week with photos of the projects.

This cute little card is created using Very Punny and Seeing Spots. I've only used 2 colours of paper, whisper white and basic black. The middle cow is stamped, coloured with pearl ex powder, and then I've given her red dazzling diamond shoes. I softened each little white square by sponging each one with basic black ink. Simply 'like no udder'!

Sell-A-Bration is quickly coming to an end! The last day to order from the Sell-A-Bration catalogue is Feb. 26. www.stampinup.com , go to specials and promotions.

A few of you were able to take advantage of the promotion and receive free stamp sets! The girls received free stamp sets for spending $75 or more (before tax and shipping) on Stampin' Up! products. These 5 stamp sets along with one Simply Scrappin' kit will soon be gone for good as they are a limited-time offer only. Give me a call if you are interested in taking advantage of this promotion before it ends!!

These first 2 cards are using the Very Punny stamp set. This set included cute little sayings like 'Best Fishes', 'Chirp Up!', 'Like No Udder', 'Hoppy for you', Bug me anytime', 'Tickled Pink', 'Crib Notes', and 'Sweet Stuff'. It's a very fun set to play with!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!! for tomorrow. Its actually only a couple of hours until it is officially Feb 14. Wishing you all lots of love and chocolate!!!

This card here was one of the Valentine's cards that my friends made at last week's workshops. I have to thank my friend Stacey for the idea and layout of this card. Together we share alot of ideas and inspiration!
It is very easy to do but packs alot of punch (or love!) because of the bold and bright colours (hehe!). The card was created using pixie pink, real red (both from the Bold Brights paper family)and whisper white paper. The hearts and words at the bottom are from the Loads of Love stamp set. These were both stamped using classic black ink. The hearts were coloured with the Watercolour Pencils. The tags were punched with the small and large tag punches. I simply put them together with snail adhesive and then hole punched them, threaded some red grosgrain ribbon thru and then finished it off with a staple to hold the ribbon in place. And there you have it, a Valentines card for your loved one!

All the supplies used to make this card are exclusive to Stampin' Up!. To view the catalogue go to www.stampinup.com.
